Sunday School

Sunday School is a pleasant, child friendly session that takes place on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month in the Synod Hall beside the Cathedral. This happens during the 10 am service, allowing parents to engage in worship while their children are able to safely explore their faith nearby, in a more child-focused manner.

Anglican Sunday School offers children a nurturing environment that fosters spiritual growth, character development, and a sense of community, often utilising a lectionary-based curriculum to align lessons with the wider Cathedral's worship and seasons.

These sessions provide foundational Biblical literacy, helping children understand God's love while teaching timeless values such as compassion, honesty, and kindness. By combining engaging, age-appropriate activities—such as games, crafts, and interactive stories—with structured, orthodox teachings, Anglican Sunday School helps children form a personal faith and a lasting connection to a supportive church community.

Key benefits include:

Spiritual and Personal Growth: Fosters a personal relationship with God through learning Bible stories, prayers, and foundational church history.

Community and Belonging: Creates a safe, supportive environment for children to connect with peers and trusted Christian adults, building fellowship.

Integrated Learning: Many programs are lectionary-based, connecting the Sunday School lesson with what parents are hearing in the main church service, aiding in family discipleship.

Moral Foundation: Instills ethical principles based on Scripture that encourage respect, resilience, and a desire to serve others.

The Cathedral community takes the safety of all members of our congregation seriously. All persons engaging with children have a current Working With Children Check.
